SelfKnot
The open rung. The openness is the product.
A seeed Xiao board plus a secure element holding a key generated on-chip that cannot be extracted in software. The firmware is open and user-replaceable by design — and that is the honest claim: trust comes from the ledger-enrolled key, not from firmware you could replace yourself.
Specifications
- Xiao (seeed) + ATECC608B secure element
- P-256 keypair generated on-chip, non-extractable
- Firmware open and user-replaceable
- No confirm button — it makes no human-presence claim
- Potted in clear resin; serialized
Availability
Shipping now, in small runs — the secure element is the supply constraint, so quantities are limited per batch. Defeats casual forgery; does not claim a person was present.
Try one before you buy one
Every attestation device signs a challenge and the record is checked in your browser at verifyknot.io/start — no account, no login. The verdict is computed from the record itself, not handed down by our server.
What it does not do
A signature proves that a specific key signed specific bytes. On its own it does not prove who held the key, that a person was present, or that the contents are true. Each rung of the line adds one of those, and we say which. The timestamp on a record is ours, not an outside authority’s. Tamper-evident, not tamper-proof.
